Falling or worrying about unsteadiness and falling is a common problem and can really impact a patients confidence and day-to-day life.

Steady on Your Feet Devon provides free access to advice, guidance, and resources for anyone in Devon to use.

Self-assessment
  • They can complete a quick and easy self-assessment. The results will only be visible to the patient and not shared elsewhere.
  • It will give the patient advice and an action plan on what to do next:
    • It might be as simple as ensuring they are wearing the correct footwear or improving lighting at home
    • or they might need to improve their muscle strength to improve their balance
    • Or it might advise them to see a health care professional

Steady On Your Feet Devon contains simple tips to stay active, independent and safe, carrying out everyday activities, together with information on Strength & Balance classes (up to 6 weeks free) open to everyone in Devon by self-referral - patients do not require a healthcare professional to refer you.

Patients will have an assessment at the beginning of the course. The assessor has close links with the community rehabilitation team and will discuss a referral with you if they feel that an individual rehabilitation programme might be better suited to them.
