Obesity: Investigations and Monitoring
Scope
NICE do not recommend annual testing for Type 2 Diabetes in obesity. However we consider that this is appropriate for obese patients with hypertension as they are at increased risk of diabetes.
Adult weight management pathway for referral
Out of scope
Because of a lack of evidence we do not recommend routinely screening for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
