Naftidrofuryl
  • Capsules 100mg (£8.17 = 100mg three times a day)

Indication

  • Intermittent claudication in peripheral vascular disease

Dose

  • 100mg – 200mg three times a day

Notes

  1. Naftidrofuryl may improve the symptoms of patients suffering moderate disease (claudication distance less than 500 metres) but it is not known if it has any effect on the outcome of the disease.
  2. The benefit from any therapy initiated for the symptoms of intermittent claudication should be assessed at 3 months.

  4. NICE TA223 does not recommend cilostazol, pentoxifylline and inositol nicotinate for the treatment of intermittent claudication in people with peripheral arterial disease.
